What is Acne
Acne vulgaris is an inflammatory disease of the skin, the main cause of this disease is the alteration of the sebaceous glands (skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and sebaceous glands associated). Acne lesions that we often referred to as pimples, spots or pimples.

Such conditions often occur in adolescents during puberty, especially in the west on umumya likely due to a higher genetic predisposition. It is considered as an abnormal response to normal levels of the male hormone testosterone. The perception of most people that acne will gradually disappear by itself, or at least will not decline, after approaching the age of 20 years. So far no one has been able to predict how long it takes to get rid of acne completely, they will be continue to suffer from acne until the age of 30 years or even 40 years nan-nan. Acne affects a large percentage of humans at some stage in life.

Symptom

The most common form of acne is known as "acne vulgaris", meaning "common acne." Excessive secretion of oils from the sebaceous glands combines with naturally dead skin cells to block the hair follicles. There also appeares were in some cases broken keritinization process in the skin that causes the abnormal shedding of skin that wraps the pores. Oil secretions accumulate under the clogged pores so this causes Propionibacterium acnes bacteria can multiply rapidly. As a response, the skin inflames and produces visible lesions. Face, chest, back, shoulders and upper arms are the most affected.

Here are some types of acne lesions: pustules, papules, blackheads, nodules and inflammatory cysts. These are some of the more inflamed form of pus or reddish bumps, even boil-like soft swell 'sebaceous cysts' non-inflamed, or better we refer to as epidermoid cysts, this occurs both in association with acne or alone but not a constant feature. After completion of acne lesions, often scars caused by acne are still visible.

In addition to scarring, the ultimate effect is a psychological problem, such as lowered self-esteem and depression can occur. Acne often appear when adolescence, when people have started to love the opposite sex both men and women.

Causes of Acne

In part precisely why people can get acne and some people there who do not get acne is unknown. Some say because keturan, there also said that because some of the following factors:

1. hormonal activity that is like puberty and menstrual cycles.
2. Stress that the increased output of hormones from the adrenal (stress) glands.
3. hyperactive sebaceous glands, secondary to the three hormone sources above.
4. The accumulation of dead skin cells.
5. Bacteria in the pores, which causes the body becomes 'allergic'.
6. Skin irritation or scratching of any will activate inflammation.
7. The use of anabolic steroids.
8. Drugs which contains halogen (iodide, chloride, bromide), lithium, barbiturates, or                 androgens.
9. Exposure to high levels of chlorine compounds, particularly chlorinated dioxins, can               cause severe, long-lasting acne, known as chloracne.

So far, our attention has been focused mostly on hormone-driven over-production of sebum become the main elements that cause acne. The latest news says that the second factor leading cause of acne is due to narrowing of the follicle channel. Abnormal shedding of the cells lining the follicle, abnormal cell binding ("hyperkeratinization") within the follicle, and water retention in the skin (swelling of the skin and suppresses the follicles shut) have all proposed mechanism becomes important. There are several hormones that have often been linked to acne: the male hormone testosterone, dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS), as well as insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-I). In addition to the above earlier, acne skin also has proven resistant to insulin.

Developers who deal with the problem of acne vulgaris in recent years seen rarely, although these include the age group for Rosacea which may still have the same visible appearance. Acne vulgaris is frequently arise in adults, to older people probably because of an underlying condition such as pregnancy and disorders of polycystic ovary syndrome or the rare Cushing's syndrome.

Misconceptions about the causes

There are many rumors in the community about what to do and not have to, but it could cause the appearance of acne condition one of them:

Diet

A case study has noted that chocolate, french fries, potato chips and sugar, which affects the appearance of acne. despite the fact that recently there meriview scientific literature about the causes of the above does not fully affect the acne. Health professionals have agreed that acne sufferers should be able to experiment with a diet in which they live, and refrain from foods that are able to aggravate acne, According to their latest research, based on survey results obtained from 47 335 women, did not find a relationship positive epidemiology between milk consumption and acne, particularly the study hypothesize states that acne can be caused by hormone skim. (As livestock IGF-I) in cow's milk, but this has not been definitively shown.

Sea

Sea water contains relatively high levels of iodine, but probably not enough to cause acne outbreaks. However, people who are sensitive to acne may want to avoid excessive consumption of foods high in iodine. It is also the basis of the scientists that there is a link between a diet high in refined sugars and acne. Based on this hypothesis, not the appearance of acne than most non-Westernized societies could be explained by the low glycemic index of these tribes studying diet. Furthermore necessary to determine whether to reduce the consumption of high-glycemic foods (such as candy, soft drinks, white bread) can significantly reduce acne, although high-glycemic foods should be reduced to a minimum, for reasons of public health.

Lack of personal hygiene

Acne is not actually caused by dirt. This misconception probably comes from the statement that acne is caused by infection of the skin. In fact, the blockages that make acne occur deep within the narrow follicle channel, where it can be washed with water or cleaning. The bacteria involved are the same bacteria and is always present on the skin. Routine cleaning of the skin it can reduce, but not prevent, acne for a particular type and very little awareness among individuals with cleanliness. Something done outside cleaning can worsen existing lesions and may even encourage people damage their own skin or overdrying.
